A rental pump system for special effects was requested by a film production company that needed help staging a scene in which actors simulated a struggle in a flooded basement. The scene required 5,000 gallons of water per minute to fill and empty the set quickly, so safety was a key requirement.
The set crew built two 21’ x 21’ custom tanks, inside of which 6–8 members of the film team were standing throughout filming. Our knowledge of flow rates and the timing of various dry prime pumps, coupled with our commitment to keeping water clean as it cycles through our equipment, enabled us to design a complete pumping and storage system that kept the actors, crew, and stuntmen safe.
